An update on the SKYLON spaceplane and its SABRE engine will be presented showing the progress made in the past few years towards realising the project. An outline programme will be given for its planned development over the next decade, including the contribution made by the UK Government towards the programme.

The talk will end by indicating how SKYLON will enable major missions to other planets, especially Mars, during the second half of this century.
