6 Oct 2016Spacecraft I Have Known and Loved

In 35 years of space research, I've had the good fortune to work on a variety of iconic space missions including the Large Space Telescope (later named Hubble!), the Giotto mission to Halley's comet, the Beagle 2 mission to Mars, the Rosetta mission to comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, the Cassini/Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan and others. And, while living in Guildford, I was involved as part of my PhD research, in launching sounding rockets from Woomera, Australia in the early days of x-ray astronomy. I shall describe my journey into space research and these projects from both a scientific and personal perspective.
