Everyone is welcome
from beginners to
experienced observers.
Like most local Societies, we exist mainly as a forum for satisfying our own personal interest and enjoyment of the subject we’re passionate about: Astronomy.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
Our meetings are held at Surrey University, Lecture Theatre M. The meeting will also be streamed to members via Zoom.
Every month we have a guest speaker and usually a presentation of what you can expect to see in the night sky during the month.

Dr Rian Jones.
.
Rhian Jones is a British planetary scientist whose research focuses on chondrites and the evidence they provide on how the Solar System formed. She is a Professor of Cosmochemistry in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Manchester. Jones read chemistry at the University of Oxford, earning a bachelor’s degree there in 1983. She completed a PhD in geology at the University of Manchester in 1986. Jones is the 2023 Price Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society winner, .
